The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector vacancies in the J&K Police, Home Department on a Direct Recruitment Basis. Candidates interested in the vacancy details and who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online.

Important Dates

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2024

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age Limit:
  • General Candidates (OM), SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC, IB, OBC, EWS, Government Service, Contractual Employment: 28 Years (Born between 01 January 1996 to 01 January 2006)
  • In-Service Police Personnel: 30 Years (Born between 01 January 1994 to 01 January 2006)
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per rules

Physical Standards

For PST:

• For Males:
  • Height: 5′-6″ (minimum)
  • Chest Girth: 32″ (unexpanded), 33½″ (expanded)
• For Females:
  • Height: 5′-2″ (minimum)
  • Gorkha Community/Bot Tribe candidates: 2″ height relaxation.

For PET:

• For Male Candidates:
  • Long Race: 1600 meters in 6½ minutes
  • Push-ups: 20 (one cycle of up and down counts as one)
• For Female Candidates:
  • Long Race: 1000 meters in 6½ minutes
  • Shot Put (4kg): 14½ feet in three attempts

Qualification

• Any Degree (from a recognized university)

Application Fee

• For All Others: Rs. 700/-
• For SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS Category: Rs. 600/-
• Payment Mode: Online (Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards)
